Position Overview
The IT and System Administrator at Imperial World School is responsible for managing and maintaining the school’s entire digital ecosystem, ensuring that all technology systems function efficiently to support teaching, learning, administration, and communication. The role includes overseeing computer labs, network infrastructure, CCTV surveillance, school applications, website management, and coordination with external technology vendors and advertising agencies.
The IT Administrator plays a vital role in enabling a modern learning environment by ensuring reliable connectivity, data security, and smooth digital operations across the school.
Key Responsibilities
Network & Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN/Wi-Fi networks across the campus.
- Monitor internet connectivity and ensure stable high-speed access in classrooms, offices, and labs.
- Manage routers, switches, servers, firewalls, and network security.
- Troubleshoot network outages and connectivity issues promptly.
- Maintain backup internet and power systems where necessary.
Computer Lab & Hardware Maintenance
- Maintain all school desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, smart boards, and accessories.
- Set up new systems and install required educational software.
- Ensure the computer lab is functional and ready for classes daily.
- Perform preventive maintenance and periodic hardware servicing.
- Keep an inventory of all IT equipment and accessories.
CCTV & Security Systems
- Manage and monitor the school CCTV surveillance system.
- Ensure all cameras are operational and recording properly.
- Handle storage backups and video retrieval when required by administration.
- Maintain access control and digital safety protocols.
- Support safety and safeguarding compliance of the school.
School App & Digital Systems
- Manage the school ERP / School App (attendance, results, notices, communication).
- Support teachers and administrative staff in using the system.
- Troubleshoot login, attendance, report card, and notification issues.
- Coordinate updates and improvements with the software provider.
Website & Digital Communication
- Regularly update the school website (notices, events, announcements, admissions information).
- Upload photos, event reports, newsletters, and student achievements.
- Ensure the website is secure, updated, and functioning properly.
- Manage official school emails and domain services.
Coordination with Ad & Technology Vendors
- Coordinate with the school’s advertising agency for website, social media creatives, and campaigns.
- Share photos, videos, event details, and required digital materials.
- Communicate with software vendors, CCTV providers, and internet service providers.
- Support digital marketing initiatives (online admission campaigns, lead forms, etc.).
User Support & Training
- Provide technical support to teachers, students, and administrative staff.
- Assist during school events, presentations, trainings, and workshops.
- Train staff members on using projectors, smart boards, and school systems.
- Ensure digital classrooms function smoothly during teaching hours.
Data Security & Backup
- Maintain data backup for important school records.
- Implement antivirus, firewall, and cybersecurity protection measures.
- Ensure student and staff data privacy and protection.
- Manage Google Drive / cloud storage / institutional accounts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience in IT support, network administration, or system management.
- Experience managing networks, CCTV systems, and hardware maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of website management (WordPress or similar CMS).
- Familiarity with school management software/ERP systems preferred.
