Imperial World School (IWS), a leading international school in Kathmandu, is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and qualified School Counselor to support the academic, social, emotional, and personal development of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students.
  • Support students' social, emotional, behavioral, and mental well-being.
  • Strong understanding of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) frameworks such as CASEL.
  • Ability to design and implement SEL programs across grade levels.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and school leadership to address student needs.
  • Conduct awareness programs and workshops on topics such as mental health, emotional intelligence, personal safety, stress management, and positive relationships.
  • Assist students in developing effective coping, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Maintain confidential student records and counseling documentation.
  • Identify and provide support for students requiring additional intervention or referrals.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, Psychology, School Counseling, Mental Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant counseling experience, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and counseling skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Professional integrity, empathy, and a student-centered approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an international or progressive educational environment.
  • Training in child protection, safeguarding, social-emotional learning, or mental health support.
  • Experience designing and conducting student well-being programs and workshops.
